What We Do

Whether it’s custom eLearning, on-site training classes, or motivating your team at large events, we’ve got a solution for your safety needs.

Custom eLearning

Gone are the days when training meant gathering your team around the VCR. It didn’t work well then, and it hasn’t gotten any better. While there’s no replacement for in-person conversations, interactive eLearning provides an efficient means to reach across an organization. Employees can train individually as schedules allow. An effective model may include an initial in-person kickoff meeting followed by customized eLearning content targeted at reinforcing desired behavior.  A one hour class is never as effective at changing behavior as four fifteen minute sessions. In an era where everyone has a cell phone, doesn’t it make sense to harness of the power of technology to complement your training efforts.

On-site Training

Here at Synergy, we still do old-school, in person training for any size group. The level of interaction achieved in face-to-face training sessions remains invaluable. Whatever subject you need covered, we’ve probably done it. We have an extensive library of topics including defensive driving, safety, and compliance. A very effective model can include an in-person kick-off, followed up by regular, shorter eLearning sessions, as outlined under our Custom eLearning section. We customize every presentation to your operations and focus on those things (losses, accidents, etc.) that are most important to the health of your organization.

Motivational Speaking

Gone are the days when training meant starting up the VCR. It was a poor solution then, and it’s only gotten worse. Delivering information, in and of itself, doesn’t produce breakthrough results. Honest, interactive conversations do. John’s hallmark style with groups of any size, whether it’s three or three-hundred, uses questions, humor and video to stimulate conversations during, and after, the presentation. Whether John is speaking to a team of supervisors, or giving the keynote address at a company-wide event, he’s able to connect with people at all levels of the organization.

Assessment

How well is your organization doing? If you’ve recently had some kind of external audit, you might have some idea. But are you missing some simple pieces that could help reduce the chance of injury or loss? An assessment of your safety and risk management program is a proactive step towards being prepared and recognizing opportunities for improvement. Synergy can review and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) — losses, injuries, accidents, near-misses — and target areas to maximize improvement.

Insurance Preparedness

We leave insurance questions to the experts — but positioning you in the best possible light with carriers can have a tremendous impact on your insurance costs. Your broker should be working with you to establish programs and controls to reduce your total cost of risk. If they aren’t, you may need a new broker. John’s background in commercial insurance pays dividends when partnering with your broker to maximize your credits as well as opening up potential cost saving options in other markets.

Captive / Risk Retention Groups

Got more skin in the game? High deductible arrangements require a redoubling of effort to ensure the success of the program. Groups demand specific policies, procedures and requirements to reduce risk. Synergy was hired to help a young captive insurance company, wrestling with how to control risk. Over the next eight years, Synergy worked with members across the country to establish programs and measures that resulted in substantial returns of premium to the member companies, and strong approval from the national carrier overseeing the program. Regulatory / Compliance

Has OSHA ever shown up at your door? Would you be prepared if they did? Often, companies aren’t prepared for an audit, don’t know what to say (or not say!) to enforcement, and aren’t aware of their rights. Let Synergy help you determine the chain of communication, formalize procedures, and train employees on how to handle a visit. And, in the event of an actual audit, Synergy is available to participate in the opening conference and / or be on site for the inspection. After the inspection, there will be a closing conference at which Synergy can help you understand and respond with your Letter of Corrective Action.
